LABS

    January 14 (was Jan 12, extended!) http://www.kerryveenstra.com/bin-dec-hex.html
January 19  If you do not have Excel on your own laptop or desktop computer, you can go to one of the ITS Computer Labs on campus that has either Macs or Windows PCs. Check the links below for locations and hours. Be aware that this is not a programming class, and so I haven't signed up for dedicated Lab time for you. That means that you can use the Labs whenever class is not in session. During other classes, the TAs usually are accommodating and will let you use spare computers almost any time.  I tested this excel sheet with the latest version of office libre (works).  Google spreadsheets works ok (slow, and you dont see the vertical lines too easily).

Lab 10    March 15   In class

Labs are due Tuesday in class 5pm!

Labs are due Tuesday in class!  (yes, I repeated myself)

Late labs will be penalized (10%, 20%, 30%, 40% …).   This means, first late lab will be penalized 10%, the 2nd late lab will be penalized 20%, etc.   This is not a per day penalty, it is per lab (aka if you turn it in a week later, first time late, 10% penalty.).

Email submissions are due by Tuesday due date, before 8pm PST  (no exact time, later you wait, the bigger chance you take)!   When the grader goes to bed, that is the due date!

I'll be posting lab solutions near midnight.    I dont wish to reward those who turn it the lab in late, nor penalize those who use the lab solutions to study for the quiz!

Non PDF submissions, you will get 1 free submission.   What this means, if you submit your lab as a non PDF format (e.g. Word document), it will be considered late, after the first violation.    Thus, if you have 2 prior late labs, and submit a JPG picture of your answer (first time), no additional penalty.    If you submit the next lab in a non PDF format, with 2 prior late labs, and you used your freebie, that lab will be penalized 30%.    Sadly, people are abusing the deadline, making it increasingly difficult for the graders!

These rules do NOT apply to Labs 1 & 2!

Labs are due at the start of class, on the due date.   You may also email your PDF solutions to: ce80n.w16@gmail.com

Please put which lab in the topic, e.g. 'LAB 1'.   Thanks!

YOUR GRADES

Your grades can be seen at:

https://users.soe.ucsc.edu/~jlmathew/ce80n/index.cgi

The problem is not linked to your grades directly, the data is downloaded and generated separately.   Updates will correspond with lab/quiz grading.

Quiz 10 will reflect extra credit points (not updated at this moment).
